I recently climbed some amazing peaks in the Cordillera Real mountain range in Bolivia. I would highly recommend this range and have documented my climbs, including four high definition videos, here - http://www.high-empire.tumblr.com

If you’re looking for a reasonably long mountaineering trip (three weeks minimum) take a look and I’m sure you’ll be inspired.

Has anyone else been climbing in the Cordillera Real who agrees it’s absolutely awesome?

Cheers,

Mark

In reply to Empire: Yes I spent three months climbing in the Cordillera Real back in 1989. Fantastic area, I would also highly recommend it to anyone looking for an area for their own trip.

Here's a link to a trip we did in 1972 to the Illampu/Ancohuma area of the Cordillera Real. It's a fantastic area and, at the time, still fairly little visited.

Plenty of photos although the access info is a bit out of date as now it is quite popular. There is a guide book by Yossi Brain:
