I was wondering if anyone has been to Japan to climb / boulder, and if so what you thought of it. I would also be interested in the amount of climbing there. Thanks

Massive amounts of climbing, can be hard to access if you cannot speak/read Japanese.
I've only been climbing around Kansai (Kyoto, Osaka) but there was lots there, mostly bolted.

There's lots and that link covers most of it. Don't think it mentions Jogasaki which is a day trip from Tokyo. Best place I went to was Ogawayama (sport, trad and bouldering) but that is a weekend trip and summer only.

There are usually a few foreign climbers living in Tokyo so try and track them down (at one of the walls, used to meet at T wall in Edogawabashi?). Maybe easier to find your way around with them if you don't speak Japanese.

Big questions are when are you going and where will you be based? Answers to these can make a big difference to best places for climbing.
