So I've seen a few people with climbing shorts which have mesh side pockets where they put chalk so they can quickly chalk up by slapping there thighs. Been unable to find them on google, anyone know where i can find them?

Ive never seen this. What i have seen is climbers slapping their hands on their thighs to remove excessive chalk?

Are you sure there were actual mesh pockets and they'd not just dabbed lots of chalk on their thighs in advance of setting off? I've seen that done several times before.

In reply to Haydn Jones: I can see the logic in this, do you know anyone with a sewing machine? Mesh is quite cheap to pick up - maybe doctor a pair of shorts you already own? Just an idea that could save you a bit of cash.

Just wear them inside out with the mesh pants on the outside
