Anyone interested in Scottish Land Reform: the UK government (Scottish Affairs Committee) consultation closes on Monday (28 Oct). The more submissions they get, the more seriously they'll take the issue - there's nothing preventing individuals submitting brief contributions. Currently, Westminster seems to be offering more hope for reform in this area than Holyrood - support change and demonstrate the strength of feeling and importance of this.
If anyone wants well-researched and concise background to the debate and current situation, there's an excellent paper on the consultation webpage (link below) about the case for reform. Only 432 individuals own over 50% of Scotland's privately owned land (NB only 10% of Scottish land is in public ownership) - the most concentrated pattern of landownership in the developed world. Changing this is one way to address the growing inequality in our society, and help the communities we visit as mountaineers, become more vibrant and self-reliant.
