I'm visiting a friend in London in a few weeks and was wondering about travel. I arrive 13:30 on a Friday, and will be leaving on Sunday night.

Will the cheapest way for me to get around be to get 3 x Off-peak travel passes? I understand these can be used all weekend, and after 09:30 on Friday's.

As far as I can see, you can only get 1 day, or week long passes.

Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

In reply to James Malloch: Assuming you may go to London again at some point in the future.... I would buy an Oyster Card and use that. For the initial £5(?) charge you do end up saving money.

In reply to Uluru: Ah that might be a good idea, I didn't realise anyone could get one! Just had a quick look, and I think that I can use my 16-25 railcard on it too, this gives an extra 34% discount!

Thanks!

In reply to James Malloch: Yeah, to use your 16-25 card just ask them to attach it to the card at the ticket office. The card then caps at the cost of a 16-25 travelcard.

In reply to James Malloch: Oyster card all the way. The 5£ is only a deposit too.
