Online OS map software?

I used to use OS Getamap which was always a bit clunky and somewhat frustrating to use, however the price made it a good way of accessing OS maps cheaply online. The subscription has now gone up to £20 a year which, although still cheap, makes me wonder whether there is better software for the money. I'm preferably looking for something online and that covers the whole of the country. It doesn't need to be GPS compatible because I don't have GPS, but being able to plan routes is essential. Any suggestions?

Bing maps works fine for free!

http://wtp2.appspot.com/wheresthepath.htm This site is free and quite good, you can see the OS map and google satellite overlays next to each other, draw routes, get terrain profiles and print them. Saving your routes is a little clunky as you need to save the file to your PC and then re-import it later but it is free. The other downside is there doesn't appear to be any instructions but it's fairly easy to get the hang of.

Excellent, some great suggestions thank you. With Bing, can you plot routes on it?
