There are many Gites which cater for that sort of size at a reasonable price. I've gone to font with 12-14 friends twice now. Once we had a single Gite, once we had two adjacent Gites which shared a garden.
In case you don't know, Gites are self-catering holiday accommodation. They tend to be well maintained, often an old converted barn or similar. They charge for the week (usually Saturday to Saturday). The cost includes a certain amount of hot water and electricity, but they charge you if you use more. They also sometimes charge for bedding, but you can bring your own bedding if you have the space. Last year we ended up paying £12 for the electricity that 13 of us used, so less then £1 each. I suppose with babies, you might use more.
http://en.gites-de-france.com/ is the website we used. It's not the best designed website in the world, but we got there in the end.
The only issue is that the Gites book up quickly, so plan in advance if you can. There are Gites in the forest itself and others within easy distance of the forest.
Hope this helps,
Mehmet
