How's it looking? Is the rock soaked or has the wind done a good job of drying?
 Offwidth 03 Nov 2013
In reply to Jackwd: Check out rain today.
In reply to Jackwd:

Western is wet.

In reply to Jackwd: Okay thanks, looking at the weather maps looks like south/east might be the best bets. I'll bide my time till lunchtime and see if it perks up.
In reply to Jackwd: Been raining all morning in Sheffield.

I often wonder what life is like for the pathologically optimistic. Is it good or bad?

In reply to Jon Stewart: we'll if say I'm pathologically optimistic.
If I wasn't with the inlaws today I'd definitely be able to find dry rock today, no problem.
 Jon Stewart 03 Nov 2013
In reply to deacondeacon:

Would you be able to find dry rock worth climbing though?
 deacondeacon 03 Nov 2013
In reply to Jon Stewart: I'd find it worthwhile, you probably not

Limestone bouldering at Rubicon, The Tor, or somewhere around there. maybe even Stoney.
Just walked past Wharncliffe and that was dry (although windy).

Anston probably has some dry problems.

Roache rocks is potentially dry although not sure of access restrictions.

Eastwood rocks could be good too, along with a load of others.

New Mills might have something dry, depending on wether the wind was whistling through there last night.

I'd much rather be driving around the Peak looking for some dry rock, rather than sitting at home bored out of my eyes

Thankfully I have a massive stack of work to do, shopping, housework, and a climbing wall to go to, in addition to discussing it all on UKC. So I'll give the trawling around z-list bouldering venues in the rain a miss today, delightful as it sounds.
 Offwidth 03 Nov 2013
In reply to Jon Stewart: some of those venues are hardly z list

In reply to Offwidth:

Do you know what, I only wrote that in order to elicit that specific response from you, specifically! Right on cue!

In reply to Jon Stewart:

Award yourself a gold star.
