Thinking about heading home to Inverness next week for some 'off-piste' snowboarding/climbing and wondering if anyone knows what the snow coverage / height is like in the northwest to wyvis etc? - worth the effort of lugging my board up for a more exciting decent?

Iffy I'd say.

Wyvis does look plastered from Inverness right now though. The top 200m or so look to have better coverage than the Gorms.

Just checked the forecast and it's looking a bit milder.

In reply to DaveHK: Yeah I guessed it would be a bit lean and I hear its going to get milder again. No fun being away when its winter wonderland back home! I guess i'll just have to wait until proper winter.
Cheers!

I think that's a good call. No point going off half cocked...

In reply to DaveHK: Aye would be great to get through a winter in one piece!

I would have been out but a sprained ankle meant I couldn't get my ski boots on.

I'm consoling myself with the thought that it wasn't that great. Fully stoked (again!) for a top season.

In reply to DaveHK: Thats what I tell myself when I dont manage to get out! Ive heard folk say its going to be a good season and im psyched to get out and get as much done as possible!
