got told there has been a recent article in a US climbing mag about the Island of Socotra, can anyone tell me which mag and which issue please.

I've wanted to go there for years, looks amazing. I didnt realise there was climbing to be done there, I'd be interested to find out more too.

In reply to aln: Yes, awesome it is my dream destination and I was looking into a trip but the al queda situation there just seems to be getting worse sadly.

Dont know the article but it may by/about Mike Libekis trip.
Inspiring stuff. Theres a video too, and search his name will bring up stuff. Looks incredible but a lot to sort out. That ML is a biologist adds to the whole thing as its very relevant.

In reply to ice.solo: Isn't it a bit dangerous to visit ? Vague memories of an Italian colleague who has done some work on the vegetation but hasn't been able to go back & finish his work (his photos of the island were magnificent)

I contacted Mike about this a couple of years ago, and the guy who mentioned the article is a mate of Mikes and did not say the article was about Mikes trip. Infact just rembered it was a trip involving Brittany Griffith http://theunadventured.tumblr.com/ scroll down. Naffed off after looking at that page for 5 seconds, why am I not living like that, because I`m not trying to, I can only blame myself, INSPIRATIONAL,must pull finger out.
