Scottish coastal trekking in winter

Hi,

I've got 5-8 days to enjoy just before Christmas. Would like to see some of Scotland's most remote and beautiful coastline and possibly some of it's mountains. I'm thinking I'll use bothies where available, or camp (going to be wet and chilly I'm guessing!) but I'd rather that than be around towns/villages too much. Pretty fit and used to carrying weight/covering distance.

Can anyone suggest some locations or routes please?

Thanks

Marcus

Check out the top part of the Cape Wrath Trail, say from Ullapool to Cape Wrath.

Online guide here: http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/cape-wrath-trail.shtml
Some potentially difficult river crossings to beware of!

Very likely! And dark: only about 8 hours of usable daylight.
