Heading out to Majorca in December for a bit of pre-Christmas climbing. Just wondering if anyone has any advice on where to stay? Looking at hotels more than hostels!

In reply to EalCapitan:

Most of the bolted climbing is in the mountains along the NW coast, and most of the DWS along the SE coast. The crags are fairly well spread out so there is no really obviously good centre. Pollenca or Port de Pollenca are pleasant enough places to stay. The island is not that big so you don't have to drive very far, though the road through the mountains from Pollenca to Soller and Deia, while very scenic, is tortuous and slow going.

We used an apartment in Port de Soller and stayed in a budget hotel in Soller. Both locations nice.

The crag at Port de Soller had some fun routes and was a scenic location. Sa Gubia worthy too.

Cala Magraner a bit of a drive but for a shorter trip not worth a reload on lodging.

Ate dinner after climbing in Port de Pollenca. Nice spot. I felt that for our shortish trip, and the crags we wanted to visit, Soller/Port de Soller was more centrally located.

Cheers!

In reply to EalCapitan: Have you seen the accomodation add on Rockfax and UkC? It's a local climber's house for sport lovers right in the quiet center of the island, so you can reach all the craggs and corners of the island and only 20km from Ca'n Picafort and s'Albufera. It's really worth it!
