/ Beta testing updates to Forums
We'll be rolling out some updates to the forums over the next week or so. I'd like to offer anyone who's interested the opportunity to beta test the new features and give us your thoughts before the big switch.
Please respond to this if you'd like to try it out. We would prefer people who know their browsers and operating systems.
Go on then, I'll give it a whirl
I'd be happy to. Use Chrome/Firefox (Linux so no IE really, but I can put them under Wine if needed). I'm a sysadmin/web dev, so comfy with bughunting and using firebug/other dev tools. So should be able to give you some useful feedback.
Thanks for the quick responses. I'll send you login details in an hour, just wanted to get a list together first so I can add you all at the same time.
I'll give a whirl too.
Can do, if you want another body?
Paul - happy to help.
Can do iOS and Chrome/Win7 64bit
Where do you want us to report issues, Paul? New thread on the development forum?
Yes please, use the dev forum thanks.
If you need someone to look at it through Safari I'm happy to have a look when I get home after work? Not a trained tech guy but would be able to spot errors I reckon.
i'll play Mavericks Chrome/Safari can do widoze if forced :-)
Happy to have a look (Chrome, Win7-64bit)
Will give it a look from a tablet if you want
Android jellybean 4.3 using chrome
Just so you know, I'm on Win 8 with either Chrome or IE
Home OS X Mavericks/Firefox (also Safari)
Work Windows XP /Firefox (also Chrome & IE)
I'd like to I use an old Internet explorer on windows at work and I use Safari on my Mac at home.
All above added.
It would be good to get feedback on the old IE version. We're officially dropping support for IE6 with these updates. It still works in IE6, just doesn't look as nice ;)
Can test on iPhone/iPad2 and on Windows 7 32-bit based laptop.
Was getting some layout issues in IE8 on work PC (especially if browsing in a window smaller than full screen), but these aren't new as of the beta version, they've been around for at least a couple of months now.
Could you send me a screenshot if you know how to please?
paul at ukclimbing.com
can test using chrome on osx mavericks/windows 7/ios7
can do 64bit windows 8 and Chrome if you want. Also have firefox but don't normally use it.
Can do Windows 7 plus Opera
I'd like to participate, please!
I use three setups:
Windows 7 and Chrome
Android 4.3 and Chrome for Android
Android 4.3 and Opera Mobile Classic
Please make it work on Lynx - being one of the oldest web browsers in existence it would be rude not to!
I do hope you're not being serious!?
P.S - Yes I am joking. But if you are bored sometime....
I'll dig out my Windows 95 virtual machine and get right on it! :D
I intend to try it out on Netscape 2 on my 1993 Mac :-)
Happy to have a look for you. Primarily using Chromium on Ubuntu Linux but can test other browsers under Linux or Windows 7 if need be.
I'm not sure I want to see the results of that one ;)
I have tested and it functionally works it in IE6, it doesn't look as nice without proper PNG or webfont support. We're not officially supporting that browser anymore though. IE11 is being pushed out now to Windows 7 & 8.1.
If you're interested, I can do Midori on Bodhi Linux and Dolphin Mini on Android 2.3.5.
I'll give it a go, Windows 7 64bit/IE, also IOS 7/Safari
Are we switching to a real forum now or still sticking with this BBS type thing?
Sorry, hit submit too early there. I'm on Firefox 25.1 and Shiretoko. Can beta as well if wanted.
Stick me down please Paul.
Oh, Chrome in Windows, Linux, iOS and Safari on iOS.
