New cooker, induction hobs & diversity
I think my cooker is uneconomical to repair, and having served us well is going to be replaced. The only upgrade to what I have is induction hobs.
So, opinions please on induction hob cookers (I'm looking at a Belling).
Also any advice regarding power supply. When I designed the kitchen I fed the cooker with a 10mm^2 cable on it's own 40A circuit. The cooker switch also has a 13A socket built in which does the kettle. Amps are at a stretch in our house anyway - 10kW central heating and 10kW shower are already on a relay system to prevent dual use, main fuse is 100A.
Will 40A be enough for a typical induction unit cooker (not just hob). It used to be the case that you didn't do diversity calculations for induction hobs - has that changed - do the cookers have intelligent controllers to prevent simultaneous energising of all 4 rings?
