Hello All.

I have a HH voucher burning a hole in my pocket and am in the market for some mountaineering trousers suitable primarily for Alpine summer mixed routes and perhaps Scottish winters where they would be teamed with the appropriate under / outer layer(s) as required.

A couple have caught my eye which are the Odin Guide Light Pant (http://www.cotswoldoutdoor.com/helly-hansen-mens-odin-guide-light-pant-1724... and the Verglas Patrol Pant (womens version but basically the same as far as I can tell - http://www.cotswoldoutdoor.com/helly-hansen-womens-verglas-patrol-pant-2b21... The latter has the advantage of the braces (I often find even with a belt trousers can slip down with a pack on) the former is very much lighter.

I wondered if any UKCers had owned either of these and what if any comments you had about their suitability for what I propose using them for?

Thank you in advance.

Thanks. Unfortunately I sold one kidney to fund the purchase of my Arc'teryx jacket - I can't spare the other one!
