Hi
taking the Daughter for a walk Saturday and she does not like steep stuff and snow/ice. We fancy either the Kentmere Horseshoe if Frozen under foot or Helevellyn with Striding edge and Swirral but only if no snow ice, so anyone been up there today who can give an update.
Cheers sjc

Snow on Helvellyn. None on the flanks of Kentmere, but some on High Street.

Any pics of snow on Helvellyn? Is it frozen or compacted?

In reply to An Triubhas:

Na, only seen from distance. But been there since Wed, so there will probably be compacted paths over it.

I`ll suss it when I get there, might even do this http://www.ukhillwalking.com/logbook/r/?i=277 but go over Cofa`s onto Fairfield on the return, it`s yonks since I did any pure fell walking in the Lakes on the bigger fells always climbing, quite excited now.

>> How old is she? I wouldn't take a novice onto the routes that you have suggested, Helvellyn etc when the weather and conditions are so changeable.

Try this for the Lakes.
