As my Friends Other half wouldn't Let him out to play this weekend, and at short notice has cruelly ordered him to do the roof on their extension, im going on a charity shop run this afternoon. To Look for some new viewing Material to watch tonight.

Any films From last few years i might want to Look out for anyone?

I Like

independent films.
Non Hollywood films.
Horror films, creature or supernatural, not Slasher or torture porn.
Good comedies, not Richard Curtis.
Thoughtful films.
Heartwarming films.
Sci fi Sometimes.

I dont like Tom Hanks, Sandra bullock, Tom cruise, George Clooney, etc.

For 'heartwarming', have you seen Untouchable? Not to be confused with The Untouchables obviously.

I just watched Sleepers and I thought it was pretty good. The Three Colours trilogy is worth your time and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang never gets old.

Cheers.

keep the ideas Coming.

Its always a bit random charity shop film runs.

Last Time was Life of Pi, Which i Thoroughly enjoyed.

Ive been Looking for Marcy Martha May Marlene for a While. Looks great. Anyone seen it.

Had eye out for untouchable for While as well.

3 Colours good, as is Kiss Kiss bang bang.

In Bruges was a popular find of mine as well.

Ps not anti all Hollywood, just a hell of a lot of it.

If you like Audrey Tatou, get Amélie, an absolutely smashing film.

If you enjoy Borgen and The Killing etc, this is excellent but I dobt you'll get it in a local store:

Yes, it was interesting but curiously uninvolving and detached. It wasn't nearly as good as I was led to believe (there was a fair amount of hyperbole about Olsen's performance, and she is perfect but it is not that "showy" a role or anything).
Worth a look but it's a "midweek special" rather than "devote your Saturday night to it" :-)
