I'm going to the Ouray ice festival in Jan and need some insurance for the trip. It's most likely the only climbing trip overseas I'll make in 2014.

Who can you recommend for insurance that covers some ice climbing in the US as well as the usual medical cover.

I have a customer who was taken ill on holiday and his medical bill was over $100.000!! A bit scary.

Not that I think ill end up in ICU...

ICU would cost more than that I think. A simple fracture would likely set you back many thousands.
No suggestions, but don't do anything high risk in the US without medical insurance

Any other suggestions?

(Or anybody who might like to suggest how much my customers medical bill was)

Thanks

BMC insurance? I don't think you'll reduce what you pay by saying you'll be climbing 'some ice'. Reckon it's a binary choice - climbing vs no climbing!

cheers, yeah. By 'Some Ice' I meant ice. You're right, ice is ice. I'll check out BMC
