Are they possible under powder? And how do they compare in difficulty to each other?
 Y Gribin 27 Nov 2013
In reply to Shaunmash:

Both are possible in powder.
An Teallach is both harder and longer, with few options for avoiding the crest of the ridge.
In reply to Y Gribin:

I'd second that.

I waded an teallach under very deep snow, waste deep most of the way. It took me 11 hours and 45 min and was one of my most memorable days out.

Sounds like a good time, i think it took me 9 hours in summer, it is a long day out, but in summer at least it was quite easy to avoid the main difficulties on the ridge by skirting round on sthe south side. Without detracting too much from the outing.

I'd say, An Teallach is both harder and longer, with MORE options for avoiding the crest of the ridge.

+1 easy to avoid the ridge but why would you - fantastic day out!

Yup- definitely a really good day out. A classic mountain day, if it were a bit blowy then the ridge would be interesting.... Especially if the snow were unconsolidated.
