I'm looking at buying a mammut rope for 70/30 sport/trad climbing.
Has anyone had any experiences with either the Mammut Spark 9.5mm or the Climax 9.6mm?
Thanks for any replies.

The Spark is a good rope, with a thick sheath proportion which makes it pretty durable, it looks nice too.

I am currently using the Transformer 9.8. I like it as it handles well and is a great price. Every individual rope also has a unique colour, plus this rope is the closest you will get to an eco friendly rope.

My favourite rope of all time has got to be the Revelation 9.2. It handles well, is nice and thin and appears to be really durable.

Hope this helps.

In reply to sean1: My single is the 9.5mm Infinity. Handles beautifully. Mammut ropes are top notch though a little stiff in the larger sizes, not a problem under 10mm IME.

I really like Mammut ropes for sport i use 10mm Supernova & Vertex, which i know you didnít ask about but in general i find mammut ropes have stronger sheath & i feel safer taking a fall on such a substantial rope.

If im doing single rope trad i also use another Supernova.

+1 for the revelation. Superb. The dry treatment is really good
