Hi,

Can anyone suggest good mixed (given current conditions) routes that might be in early season... things like Invernookie or The Message... am v happy to head over to shelterstone crag or Etchachan. Looking for routes around grade III or IV.

cheers
Jez

yup- not looking particularly cold (but you never know what might happen next week) at the moment... hence the question about mixed routes- actually might be rock routes 'til the new year when the next ice age is due to start!

Ok fair enough I did think your post a bit odd as it only refers to current conditions and not what's likely to be in quickly given a refreeze in x days time.

This stormy mild weather we are having is pretty common around early to mid December.

Fiacaill Ridge? Pygmy ridge?

I'm by no means an expert on conditions but with 4-6*C at 900m I doubt pygmy ridge would be anywhere close to 'in condition'. Forecast makes for depressing reading but hopefully we get a nice cold snap and can get a few more routes in before xmas!

Was pretty bare on Sunday, pretty impressive overnight transformation compared to Saturday
