Embedding a countdown timer in an email

Can anyone help. I want to embed(I think that's the correct term) a countdown timer in an email so whenever the email message is opened it automatically shows the time left until...in this case the end of an offer. I am using outlook 2010

You could only do this if the person receiving the email had HTML enabled in emails and/or had their client set to fully download everything displayed in the email .. and most do not because of spammers.

Easiest way to do what you're trying would be to link to an online newsletter.
