Save the Harrison’s Toilet Block and Julie Tullis Campsite

Birchden Wood Facilities CIC

The CIC working group would like to thank all climbers, dog walkers and local residents who took the time to support out “idea” on the Forestry Commission website. Over the last two days the support has trebled to 141 five star votes and 70 comments.

If you have not had the opportunity to vote then please visit the FC website here:- https://dialogue.forestry.gov.uk/visitor-facilities-at-birchden-woods-2013-...

Victoria Tustian from The Forestry Commission is the Community Office for the South East and is conducting these drop-in sessions as follows:

Monday 6th January 2014 4:30 – 6:30pm Groombridge Village Hall
The Club room, Station Road TN3 9QX

Tuesday 7th January 2014 10am -3pm Crowborough Library
Pine Grove, TN6 1DL

Victoria is the person that has been instrumental in operating the Forestry Commission website discussion. She has posted a “Summary and possible solutions” document as an idea on the website and this is attached to this email so you can bone up on the Forestry Commission’s thinking.

If you have an hour to spare and can get to one of these sessions this would help us to cement the CIC as the favoured solution for the toilet, car park and campsite. Richard Fox is organising the slots so we don’t overlap so if you can come please ring him on 01892 863 836 or email him on
richardfox@foxx.go-plus.net to arrange the time and get briefed.

The idea is that if anyone turns up then you talk through the CIC idea that we have posted on the website and give them a paper copy by printing out the document attached to this email.

PS If you are associated with a club, climbing wall or a group of friends that climb please share this message so that we show the Forestry Commission that we certainly want the block to remai

In reply to Sarah Cullen:

Votes in support of the BWF CIC are now at over 150 which is great news. But the more support the better, if you've not voted only 5 days left.
