I'm looking to head up to Scotland from the midlands on Friday evening, the idea being to climb Saturday and return home Sunday. Are any of the southern highlands likely to be in condition and if so could any one reccommend any routes please as I don't know the Southern highlands very well. Was thinking The Cobbler maybe but is it a little too low to have had any freezing? Any advice really appreciated.

In reply to smuffy:

It's been pretty warm at the Gareloch this week (5-8 degrees at sea level), and I very much doubt there is much snow or ice on the Cobbler.

Ben Lui (1130m) might be a better option, most of the routes there are grade I snow gullies. Have heard of people doing mixed routes on Ben Ime (Arrochar Alps, near to the Cobbler), which is 1011m...
