BMC membership number

Hi,
I want to apply for some travel insurance today but don't have my BMC card with me, does anyone know for sure if your BMC membership number remains the same by default if you automatically renew your BMC membership by direct debit?

I mailed BMC about this but got no reply and the automatic membership update didn't trigger an auto email which I think ideally it should have done.

Mine has certainly stayed the same through various renewals over the years.

Mine has just renewed (by Direct Debit, and I have both cards on me. The number remanins the same.

At the top of the BMC home page you can register, once done you can check your membership status and number, and even better copy a pdf of your membership card to your phone.

The number stays the same (I'm on a mountaineering club committee and I see the membership lists with the numbers on, they're always the same.).
