Southstone Rock. I would like to visit to soak up the Alleged Spooky atmosphere.

Guidebook says its a Frightening and inhospitable place.

Ive Heard a Tale of a climber fleeing the crag in a state of terror.

Anyone climbed there? Is it really that Blair witchy? Is it worth a visit for a fan of the Esoteric?

do you know how to find the place, its a little tucked away to say the least.
In reply to Choss: it's a fairly hard place to find unless your going with someone who knows the area or has been before, but it's all worth it as it's a fantastic climb spot !

I tried to find it once. I couldn't even find somewhere to park! Just went home.

Haven't all the trees been cleared there now?

I guess it depends on how overactive your imagination is. I wouldn't rate it as anything other than disappointingly grubby!

They've certainly felled a lot of trees on the hillside. I've been to check whether they've cleared around the rock.

Some, about 3 years back http://lightfromthenorth.blogspot.fi/2010/12/southstone-rock-local-cliff-fo... but its growing back up and this summer I couldn't get to what I thought might be ok bouldering because of nettles.

I'd be interested to know how enthusiastically that little gem of knowledge has been tested. I'm fairly certain I could give it a good go with a few seeds and some fertiliser

Don't be silly, your Volvo, obviously.

Anyway, you probably couldn't find the car parking spot as the guidebook is very badly written.
