Hi - we're off on a week's trip to Tenerife in early Feb - can anyone recommend any self-catering accommodation? South preferred due to airport, sunshine etc. but don't fancy a high rise near beer-swilling footy fans. Thanks! Phil

Depending on your budget, try googling tenerifelodge - Penelope the administrator can offer you loads of stuff both on and off their website! Variety of areas and all near climbing.

Look for places on ownersdirect, quite a lot of places away from the hotels.

Have stayed in Chirce twice now.

I have visited Tenerife three times in recent years.
www.holidaylettings.co.uk used to be a good website.
I seems to be owned by tripadvisor now, but maybe still worth a try.

We always stayed in Palm Mar.
It is very quiet there, but there is a local supermarket and some restaurants, so you can avoid the crowds altogether.
No sandy beach though.
