Hi everyone

I'm looking at getting back into climbing this year as not climbed outside for a few years. I used to lead Severe grade. Does anyone have any suggestions on good crags, ideally in lakes/ north Wales with a lot of easier climbs?

Thanks

Alex

Shepherds crag in the lakes is a good venue for the easier grades. HOlyhead Mountain on Anglesey is one of my fave spots to climb with groups (anything up to the mid E grades there). If you can get to the lakes or wales, you should be able to get to the peak district where there's easy climbs a plenty not to mention the outlier crags away from the honeypots.

Have a look at the following. I have ignored some of the classic easy routes, such as Troutdale Pinnacle at Black Crag, because there's only the one easy route. But if you like long multi-pitch outings, there's loads of them.

Lakes:

Shepherds, Borrowdale
Castle Rock (S crag), St Johns in the Vale.
Wallowbarrow, Duddon (excellent crag but slightly out of the way)
Raven, Langdale (behind the ODG)
Black Crag/Longs Scar, Langdale (Pike O'Blisco)

N Wales:

E Face of Tryfan
Tremadog
Idwal Slabs, Ogwen
Cwn Silyn, out Nantlle Ridge way
