Myself and a friend are travelling to the Pyrenees at the end of February and hope to climb the Couloir de Gaube if conditions allow.

Has anybody been to the area/climbed the route/or anything else nearby?

Would also like to know if gas can be bought at Cauterets and if snow shoes can be rented (we don't/can't ski).

Any info on the region at all would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
