Any suggestions

Hi,

I am planning to leave on the 10th February for two weeks ski touring/ice mixed climbing I was thinking Chamonix, but the conditions seem dire i.e. high avalanche risk.

Where else would be a good place to go - I have to drive as I am taking my dog. Was thinking Norway but judging from the webcams there seems to be no snow.

Help.

10th February? Why, Scotland of course! After the forecast 10 or so days of constant gales and snow in the mountains, the sun will come out, the freezing level will drop, the wind will die away and it'll be positively stunning across all mountain ranges for the rest of the winter.
