Yep. It's nice to see someone putting forward the (bleedin obvious, but strangely seldom acknowledged) case for why non-cyclists should be in favour of as many people cycling as possible.

Shame about the emphasis on "segregated cycle routes" though, they're so often useless, even counterproductive.

I would, sad to say like to see more cyclist using lights, I use a least 4 and cycle mainly on cycleways,
but that is a different point I know

2 Issues there - 1. Can the cyclist be seen? 2. How does the driver react to the cyclist?

In most accidents, and pretty much all the road rage horror stories (i've suffered one myself), the cyclist has been seen - so no need for more lights/hi vis etc - but the driver either deliberately or unwittingly puts the cyclist in danger through bad driving.

This is what needs to stop to make cycling safe
