Im heading out to Saas Fee for my yearly dose of alpine mountaineering for two weeks at the end of May 14, can anyone give me a rough idea on the ski lift costs?.

The 2013 prices are here:

I have not seen the 2014 rates as yet.

As you may know, if you stay at a local hotel they may provide you with a free lift pass for the duration of your stay. 'Duration' is often defined as 24 hours, so you can check out from the hotel and then get a lift up to your hut for free.

The Saas Fee website will have the details when they are available.

I could be very wrong but I expect Saas Fee in May to be like a ghost town. I'd be surprised if the town was geared up for tourists at a time between the ski season and the summer walking/climbing season. I'm reckoning lifts might be closed for maintenance, huts locked up etc...

Stayed at the Monte Rosa Hotel in Saas-Grund in the summer (www.monterosa-paneevino.ch). You get a free lift pass for the days you stay in the hotel. Very helpful people if you email for advice.
