Hi there, I'm thinking of doing some of the Cape Wrath Trail at the end of the month from Sheil Bridge to Ullapool. I'm in two minds as to whether to bring a tent or not. There seems to be ample bothies en-route but this time of year the security of a tent might be welcome. Advice please.
In reply to goatee: At this time of year a tent might be a sensible safety precaution. Deep snow, storm force winds or rivers in spate could all make carrying on to a bothy dangerous or impossible.
In reply to goatee: You probably should have a plan B in case you don't end up in a bothy. Whether that's a tent or something lighter like a bivvy bag is up to you.
