Police investigated over porn shared on phones

Seems like Pleb Gate is the gift that just keeps giving. This time some police officers protecting Number 10 are being investigated for sharing porn on their phones.

The bit that confuses me, and that's not difficult, but why did their homes need to be searched during all this?

Yes showing porn to people at work, and legal stuff not child porn, is a big No-No, but does this require a person's home being searched?

I thought this a bit of a non story - most of the people I know have a bit of that on their phones. However If you'd been involved in Pleb-Gate you'd probably want to keep your nose clean....
