Why is it that when indoor leading my rope keeps twisting up in its bag? How can I stop it ?
In reply to speedymushmouse:

Is it new? have you been using it with an italian hitch?

In reply to speedymushmouse:

in the gym once you've done a lead, pull the rope through from the end your tied on (slowly) and keep doing this eveytime you lead. the rope should leave the bag/tarp and you should re-tie on the opposite end.

it should help a little. sometimes if the ropes new you need to make sure you un-coil it correctly from the packaging.

How do you coil it (loops or lap coils)? What do you belay with? Do you often belay off well to one side?

In reply to speedymushmouse:

You should have tried climbing with hawser-laid ropes

In reply to speedymushmouse:

Try dragging it through long grass. A couple of full rope length drags (pulling from the same end for each drag) should clear it up. +1 for the hawser comment.
