Linus Pauling said vitamin C could cure just about everything, strange for a Nobel Prize winner, he even suggested it could cure Chondromalacia Patella (runners knee), I think he'd gone off his head a bit by then (even though I tried it). He also suggested a full gram a day for the common cold and flu.
