Most people camp just above the beach. Water is from a stream near the old schoolhouse. As long as you dont camp in the old buildings or disturb any wildlife then you can pretty much camp anywhere you want.
Boat was about £120 per person last time I went, though there's probably a minimum number of people. The guy who does it is called Donald, haven't got his phone number to hand but it's in Scottish Rock North, or they should have it if you contact the tourist office.
