I finally did it!

OK, I know some on here will be less than impressed as they are incredible runners but after about 18 months of 'proper' running and several near misses, I finally did 10k in under 45 mins last night. Not only did I break 45 mins (previous PB 45:04), I did it in 44:24 which makes me think I could probably get to sub 43 mins in the right mood.

OK, I appreciate that these threads are a bit boring but quite frankly, the way I feel this morning, I'd probably tell anyone such is my delight!!!!!

Good stuff. It's the ones you have to work for over a long time that feel really rewarding.

Well done - its the incremental gains that get increasingly difficult as you get better, so feel proud about hitting the target.

Well done, presumably it wasn't a race. Find the right race and you will smash it.
In reply to The New NickB:

Nope, not a race, just a training session which just seemed to work.

I know the feeling.

If you can do that in training you should easily go sub 43 mins with the added adrenalin and competition of an organised race to carry you along.
