I read a BBC article recently about links in children between depression and a type of thinking whereby they extrapolate a blanket (negative) opinion from a limited exposure.
I'm trying to find the article again, but can't find the right term to describe that way of thinking! Can anyone help?

thanks

In reply to FrankBooth:

Maybe catastrophizing, dichotomous or black and white thinking, dismissing or minimizing the positive, or perhaps some kind of generalising or some kind of cognitive / interpretive bias?
