Over 'x' number of miles saddles get uncomfortable, I'm not sure I'd go for either that or this http://www.bikeradar.com/road/news/article/chiropractor-launches-unique-inf...

however I do have one of these http://s2.thcdn.com/productimg/0/300/300/33/10787933-1363251229-152858.jpg so I suppose I've already bought one freaky design

I think the mistake they are making is to think that everyone is naturally symmetrical and only sit wonky on the saddle because of bad habits. In fact asymmetry is the norm. So designing a saddle that forces the rider to sit squarely is never going to work.

I don't think I'll ever take advice on a bike saddle from someone who's a woolsack

I have tried half a dozen cutouts, contours and minimalist saddles but to be frank, the only saddle I own that doesn't cause pain after 40 miles is one of these

people laugh at it stuck on my road bike though.

I have a brooks saddle and it is the most comfy one I own. Road bikes all have italia SLRs on though and they fit me so are comfy just not brooks comfy.

Cheers

'Standard' saddle on my road bike. Brooks on my fixie, which is more upright. The Brooks on the road bike is excruciating because, I think, the angles are all wrong.
