Good display in Edinburgh, must be really good up north.

Apparently BBC Stargazing crew are in Norfolk at the moment looking for it.
(as reported on R5Live at 2200).
No positive reports as yet from such a southerly magnetic latitude.

I've just been out to have a look (North Wales) on the basis of reports from Essex and Norfolk of NL. Too much cloud low down here.

Nice one! If I'd known it's visible despite city light I'd have had an effort!
Looking to NorthEast?

In reply to Mike_Watson_99:

In reply to BnB:

Good work.

Don't think I'll bother venturing out as I live on the South West Coast (I've just come in from my cycle home and didn't see anything)
In reply to jezb1:

We're lucky to be able to see them to be fair!

Click on the exif data assuming its correct. The Edinburgh one was taken near where I stay around the same time as my pic. The red banding didn't last too long and I never get a shot of it.

Bugger-all in Dundee. Daughter 4 and I have just been up the hill for a look. We saw some stars. We saw some clouds. We saw some buses...

Grr. I've been hoping to see the Northern Lights for nearly 50 years now. Still nothing.

Superb here in Aberdeenshire. Was at the top of local hill (Dunideer) with my wife and kids earlier. Reds, greens, huge pulsing curtains of light in the sky. Reached its peak at around 22:15. A really memorable display.

Stunning display in Inverness-shire. The whole sky was shimmering, greens and bright reds all around.

Just north of Edinburgh in Fife, we had a good display. Definitely better photos out there, but i'm quite chuffed with these for my first go and without an SLR. https://www.facebook.com/djbarratt/media_set?set=a.10151980695641801.107374...

Was tremendous in Moray. Best I've seen it. My back garden looks across the Moray firth towards Wick and the whole sky was lit up and rippling with waves of light. Amazing.

We can be a bit blasé about it in Shetland but this was exceptional. It's been a good winter generally for the "Merrie Dancers".
