It's not surprising that the
can do it but I have to admit to being surprised that they
did do it. I suppose I had a lingering naivite (sp? - I think that needs an accent somewhere) that someone in the organisation might have put a leesh on the more enthusiastic voyeurs at GCHQ. As you say, we live in a world in which it is very easy to spy on people, and that should require a review of the checks we put on surveillance organisations. But until now that hasn't happened. When the first batch of Snowden revelations came out I was a bit "meh" about it, but this latest one convinces me that he has done a very good thing.
