I am going to Barcelona for work in mid-May and plan to stay a little longer for climbing. Anyone who can recommend some areas/crags - mainly for 6a-7a sport climbing? Trad-climbing (multi-pitch?) could also be of interest.

Thanks.

There are quite a few previous threads on this subject if you do a search. The best crag in your grade range is Gelida, followed by Pas de la Mala Dona (both 40 mins from the city). The Rockfax miniguide to the area will get you to the crags, but is now very out of date in terms of routes and grades.

For multipitch, Montserrat is nearby, there are dozens of guidebooks.

Further afield you have the area around Siurana and, separately, the area around Lleida. Both now have excellent guidebooks by Pete O'Donovan and Dani Andrada. Choosing your crags wisely you can be climbing within a two hour drive of Barcelona.

Have fun!

Grau Dels Matxos never seems to get a mention, definitely worth a visit if your looking for good climbing near to Barcelona.
