You may all know this from the MBA website, but just in case ( and to recruit the odd volunteer or two ) -
Shenavall will be out of bounds to casual walkers and climbers on week commencing Sat 26th April for the 2014 workparty.
This workparty should finally bring the bothy up to standard by removing the annexe at the rear ( which is past its sell-by date and has holes in the cladding and rot in the timbers ). The work will be on the heavy side of average as there will be a lot of banging and levering and carting and sawing up. We will fill the doorway hole with masonry and a new window.
It is a large bothy and the space should not be missed as we have already opened up space which wasn't being used. Put it this way, if there wasn't an annexe, we wouldn't think of building one.
There have been a lot of compliments for the work already done on this busy bothy, which is good for the image of the MBA. This year should finish the job.
