Train timetables for freight services

I'm looking at potentially buying a house that's near a railway line and while the local services don't make too much noise I know that some fairly long freight services come past. I therefore want to time a viewing to coincide with a passing train so wondered if anyone knew of a website that you can put in the location and it will tell you when services pass through rather than the normal arrival and departures info?

I have tried google but either I'm searching for the wrong thing or any site is a well kept secret.

Thanks in advance for any pointers in the right direction!

I don't think there is such a website but post on railforums.co.uk and ask there.

Well searching for "UK freight train timetables" gave this http://www.networkrail.co.uk/browseDirectory.aspx?dir=TimetablesWorking%20T... as the first hit. There's also this: http://www.openraildata.info/

Thanks - railforums.co.uk had the answer actually once I search through some posts. http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk has the info on there but the right search options aren't obvious as I'd already tried it earlier.

With regards to the network rail suggestion I'd tried reading those as well but even having found the right 100 page pdf working out when the train might come past was a mystery!

Well, don't we have similar usernames.

I've lived next to the WCML for about ten years now, and the really big & noisy freight trains tend to run at night. I don't think you estate agent would really fancy doing a viewing at 1a.m.

Pardon me, I didn't know there were such sites. Thanks!

Rather similar!

I've just noticed that looking at the train info. Based on last Sunday night two go past at around 11.30 tonight so I think I'll go and loiter around the area then and see how much vibration there is. At least if the police stop and ask me what I'm doing I can point them at this thread...

Train heist! I'll drive/ride the car/horse whilst you leap from carriage to carriage.
