Lurchers and Hells Lum

Climbed Central Gully at Lurchers Crag on Saturday and Hells Lum on Sunday.
Both climbs are very easy at the moment with only one ice pitch, about Grade II/III (III for the ice pitch)

The Cornice is massive above Hells Lum but is easily avoided... although I would want to be anywhere near it on a warm day!!!

Did Towering Inferno on Hells Lum on Saturday. Great route, which deserves more attention (although it seems from the logbooks that quite a few people aiming for Brimstone Groove end up on it - it's not in the selected guide). In easy condition on Saturday as the bottom pitch was completely non-existent - did it in two pitches!

Freezing level was higher than forecast. Buttresses on Stag Rocks were pretty black.
