Central Gully (Left) was in good nick today - mostly good hard snow (especially in avalanche tracks) but some thin poorly bonded crust

they are our footsteps you are following - it was shite yesterday, wet but solid and raining! Not much crust at all, all fairly uniformly wet. Looks like you had a great day

I'm not familiar with the route but from what we saw I would guess that the snow on ledges and buttresses isn't consolidated very well

Nice pics. Whats the obvious gully further to the left? I'm not familiar with stuff in the lakes, but it looks a nice line.

Thanks! There had been a sharp overnight frost - the MWIS forecast was poor, and we were very lucky to have a fine day.

It's South East Gully (III)- should be good at present
