I spotted this in the local paper, and googled it today:
http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2014/feb/17/driver-charged-cyclists-deat...
Two cyclists killed a couple of weeks ago, apparently as a result of a police chase. Driver charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving, aggravated vehicle-taking and driving whilst disqualified.
Then I spotted a 'related story' at the bottom, from last year, that I don't recall seeing before:
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/may/03/motorist-kills-second-cyclist-...
Somewhat dismayed by that story, I googled in the hope that the sentence had been revised. Sadly not.

<shakes head>
I won't hold my breath on the outcome of the first story; couple of years' driving ban?
