Just wondering about anchors for top-roping at Pass of Ballater. Is it possible to anchor to trees in the middle and upper tiers of the Western section? If so, how much rope do you need (what's the distance from the trees to the cliff?).

There are lots of huge solid trees. Go up and have a look is your best bet.

You seem to do a lot of top-roping (or bottom-roping as it is more correctly called). To be able to do this at a variety of venues with a variety of anchors I would suggest at least 25-30m of static rope would be a worthwhile purchase.
