Good frozen snow in the big gullies on Brown Cove Crag and they are complete. Climbed the left hand of the parallel gullies at the left hand end of the crag as you look at it. Small cornice at the top of the gully a bit sugary in the warming sun. Buttress between the parallel gullies free of snow/ice.Central Gully on the same crag incomplete.
Huge cornices on the east face of Helvellyn as seen from Helvellyn Lower Man. Wouldn't want to be climbing anywhere near them.
